Acceptable use policy
Last updated October 22, 2026
This policy applies to every course, staff member, and developer using TeeMarshal, including through the API. It exists to protect golfers, other courses, and the phone and email reputation that every course on the platform depends on. It is part of the terms of service.
Use the service for running a golf facility
TeeMarshal is for managing tee times, golfers, payments, and communication at golf courses and related facilities. Do not resell it, or use it for an unrelated business, without our written agreement.
Messaging rules
- Send marketing texts only to golfers who opted in, and marketing email only to people who agreed to receive it or with whom you have an existing customer relationship as the law allows.
- Do not upload purchased, rented, or scraped contact lists.
- Do not mark imported contacts as consented unless you hold that consent.
- Do not try to get around STOP, unsubscribe, quiet hours, or consent checks, for example by re-adding a number that opted out or by sending from personal phones using exported lists.
- Identify your course in every message. Do not disguise the sender.
- Messages must be about your facility. No content about cannabis, firearms, gambling, lending, or adult material, and no third-party lead generation or affiliate offers. Messages that mention alcohol must be appropriate for an adult audience and follow carrier rules.
- No deceptive, harassing, threatening, or hateful content.
Carriers and mailbox providers enforce these rules too. High complaint, opt-out, or bounce rates can lead to blocked sending, which we may have to apply to your account to protect delivery for you and for others.
Payments
- Charge golfers only for goods and services you actually provide, at the prices and under the policies you showed them when they booked.
- Do not use the service to process payments for another business, to advance cash, or for anything Stripe prohibits.
- Do not enter or store card numbers in notes or other free-text fields.
Golfer data
- Use golfer information only for running your facility and communicating with your golfers.
- Do not sell golfer information.
- Do not store sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, health details, or government ID numbers in the service.
Security and fair use
- Do not access, or try to access, another course's data.
- Do not probe, scan, or test the service for vulnerabilities without our written permission. To report a vulnerability in good faith, write to security@teemarshal.com.
- Do not share logins. Give each staff member their own account. Keep API keys and webhook secrets private and rotate them if exposed.
- Stay within the API rate limit (600 requests per minute per key) and do not use multiple keys to get around it.
- Do not use automation to hold tee times you do not intend to honor, or to scrape other courses' booking sites.
- Do not upload malware or interfere with the operation of the service.
- Do not reverse engineer the service or use it to build a competing product.
Phone agent
- Do not configure the phone agent to claim to be a human. If a caller asks for a person, the call is handed off.
- If you turn on call recording, follow the notice and consent laws that apply in your state and keep the recording announcement in your greeting where required.
The law
Do not use the service to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights. That includes consumer protection, privacy, telemarketing, anti-spam, tax, and anti-discrimination laws.
What happens if this policy is broken
We will usually contact you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If the violation puts golfers, other customers, or our providers at risk (for example an unconsented text campaign), we may pause the affected feature or the account right away and tell you why. Repeated or serious violations can lead to termination under the terms of service. You can always export your data.
Reporting abuse
If you received a message or charge through TeeMarshal that you believe breaks these rules, write to support@teemarshal.com.
