Switch from GolfNow and keep your tee times
If your course pays for its tee sheet in barter times, you already know what those times are worth. TeeMarshal is a flat monthly price with no barter, golfers book on your own site, and your customer list stays with you.
About GolfNow
GolfNow runs a large consumer tee time marketplace and provides tee sheet software to courses. Under the barter model that is common in the industry, a course trades a number of tee times in place of some or all of a cash software fee. The marketplace sells those times and keeps the revenue from them, and golfers who book that way do so on the marketplace, under its brand. Multi-year agreements are common. The details differ from course to course, so read your own agreement for what applies to you.

A fair comparison
TeeMarshal's column is fact. The GolfNow column is a general description, because terms differ from course to course. Your own agreement is the source of truth.
| TeeMarshal | GolfNow | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Published flat monthly price: $199 Starter, $349 Pro, $299 per course for groups of 2 to 10. No barter tee times and no per-booking fees. | Commonly paid partly or wholly in barter: tee times the marketplace sells and keeps the revenue from. Cash arrangements also exist. | Who owns the golfer relationship | Your course. It can show them other courses and market to them directly. |
| Where golfers book | On your own domain, such as book.yourcourse.com, with your logo and colors. | On the marketplace website and app under the marketplace's brand, next to other courses, and on a booking page for your course. |
| Contracts | No contract. Month to month, and you cancel inside the app. | Multi-year agreements are common. Terms vary by course. Check your agreement. |
| Data export | Export everything as CSV whenever you like, plus a public API. If you leave, you take all of it. | Customer and tee sheet reports can be exported. What else you can take with you depends on your agreement. |
| Payment processing | Stripe, with your course as merchant of record. You pay Stripe's standard rate directly. No TeeMarshal markup at launch. | Depends on your agreement and processor. Check your merchant statement for the rate you pay. |

"But we still get bookings from GolfNow"
What to export
Two files from GolfNow cover it.
Customer export
Tee sheet report for your upcoming dates
Imported bookings come in as confirmed and unpaid unless the report shows them as paid. If you cannot find these exports in your system, ask your current vendor for a customer export and a tee sheet report by date range.
What moves over
- Your golfers. Names, emails, phone numbers, and the history fields your export includes. Duplicates are merged by phone number first, then by email.
- Future bookings. Upcoming tee times land on the matching times on your new sheet. If your new sheet does not have a matching time, TeeMarshal creates it and flags it for you.
- Rate classes. Where your export names a rate for each booking, such as senior or resident, it is mapped to the rate class with the same name.
- Consent, only when you attest to it. Imported golfers are opted in to marketing texts only if you confirm in the import that the consent exists. That confirmation is logged. Otherwise they come in as email contacts only.
- Conflicts are listed, never dropped. If an imported booking would put a time over capacity, it appears on a list for your GM to resolve. Nothing is silently discarded.
- Reversible for 7 days. Every imported row is tagged with its import. If something looks wrong, roll the whole import back within 7 days and try again.
How the import works
Upload your export files
CSV or Excel, uploaded in the admin under settings. Files are stored privately for your course.TeeMarshal recognizes the format
The importer identifies the source system from the column headers and maps the columns for you. If it does not recognize a file, you map the columns yourself in a simple matching screen.Review the preview
Before anything is saved you see the mapped columns, row counts, duplicates that will be merged, and any rows with errors.Commit
Golfers land in your CRM and future bookings appear on the sheet, marked as imported.Roll back if you need to
One click undoes the import for 7 days and returns your data to where it was.

Questions about leaving GolfNow
Will we lose the golfers who found us on the marketplace?
Golfers who have played your course are in your customer export, and they come across in the import. From then on they can book directly on your own site. Email them your new booking link the week you go live.
Can we stay listed on GolfNow after switching?
Possibly. TeeMarshal is built to distribute selected times to marketplaces at a cash price you set, where the marketplace grants access. That depends on each provider and is still rolling out, so ask us for the current status.
We are in a contract. When can we switch?
Check the end date and notice terms in your agreement, including any automatic renewal. You can set TeeMarshal up and import your data ahead of time so you are ready to go live the day your term ends.
How do I know what barter is costing us?
Multiply the barter times per day by your average green fee, players per time, the share of those times that would have sold, and the days you are open. The barter calculator does this for you and shows the formula.
What does the import bring across?
Your customer list and your upcoming bookings. Duplicates are merged by phone and email, and the import can be rolled back for 7 days.
