Switch from foreUP

Switch from foreUP to TeeMarshal

If you are weighing a change, here is what TeeMarshal offers, what comes across in the import, and a plan for doing it without a rough week at the counter.

About foreUP

foreUP is a subscription tee sheet and point of sale system for golf courses. Its pricing and contract terms are quote based and vary by course, so check your own agreement. We are not going to tell you what is wrong with it. This page sticks to what TeeMarshal does and how the move works.

Why courses move to TeeMarshal

A price you can read on a web page

TeeMarshal publishes its prices and does not negotiate them course by course. What you see on the pricing page is what you pay.

No contract

Month to month, cancel in the app. If it is not working for your course, you are not stuck with it.

Booking on your own domain

Golfers book at an address on your course's domain with your branding, and every one of them lands in a golfer list you own.

Phone agent and waitlist built in

A text-based waitlist refills cancellations on every plan. On Pro, an AI phone agent answers and books calls; it is still rolling out. Both are part of the plan price rather than separate products.

Everything exports

Golfers, bookings, payments, rates, and more as CSV whenever you want, plus a public API with webhooks.

A fair comparison

TeeMarshal's column is fact. The foreUP column is a general description, because terms differ from course to course. Your own agreement is the source of truth.

What to export

Two files from foreUP cover it.

Customers export

Your customer list as a CSV, with names, emails, and phone numbers.

Reservations export

Upcoming reservations as a CSV, with date, time, players, and the rate or price class for each.

Rate classes are matched by name, so a foreUP price class called Senior maps to your Senior rate class in TeeMarshal. If you are unsure where to find these exports, ask your current vendor for the customers and reservations CSVs.

What moves over

  • Your golfers. Names, emails, phone numbers, and the history fields your export includes. Duplicates are merged by phone number first, then by email.
  • Future bookings. Upcoming tee times land on the matching times on your new sheet. If your new sheet does not have a matching time, TeeMarshal creates it and flags it for you.
  • Rate classes. Where your export names a rate for each booking, such as senior or resident, it is mapped to the rate class with the same name.
  • Consent, only when you attest to it. Imported golfers are opted in to marketing texts only if you confirm in the import that the consent exists. That confirmation is logged. Otherwise they come in as email contacts only.
  • Conflicts are listed, never dropped. If an imported booking would put a time over capacity, it appears on a list for your GM to resolve. Nothing is silently discarded.
  • Reversible for 7 days. Every imported row is tagged with its import. If something looks wrong, roll the whole import back within 7 days and try again.

How the import works

  1. Upload your export files

CSV or Excel, uploaded in the admin under settings. Files are stored privately for your course.
  2. TeeMarshal recognizes the format

The importer identifies the source system from the column headers and maps the columns for you. If it does not recognize a file, you map the columns yourself in a simple matching screen.
  3. Review the preview

Before anything is saved you see the mapped columns, row counts, duplicates that will be merged, and any rows with errors.
  4. Commit

Golfers land in your CRM and future bookings appear on the sheet, marked as imported.
  5. Roll back if you need to

One click undoes the import for 7 days and returns your data to where it was.

Your switch plan

  1. Check your agreement

Find the end date and the notice terms in your foreUP agreement, including any automatic renewal. Put the notice deadline on a calendar. Agreements differ, so read your own.
  2. Export your data

Export your customer list and your upcoming tee sheet from foreUP. If you cannot find an export, ask your current vendor for one in writing.
  3. Set up your sheet and rates

The onboarding wizard asks for your tees, interval, and first and last times, then six questions about your rates. This is the part that takes under 30 minutes.
  4. Import and preview

Upload the export files, check the preview, and commit. Review any conflicts the importer lists.
  5. Run in parallel for a few days

Connect Stripe, make a test booking, and have your staff use the new sheet next to the old one until they are comfortable. Pick a quiet weekday as your cutover date.
  6. Point your booking links to the new site

Change the "Book a tee time" button on your website and the booking link on your Google Business Profile to your new booking address. Do a final import of any bookings taken since the first one.
  7. Go live, then cancel the old system

Take bookings on TeeMarshal. Once you have confirmed everything came across, cancel foreUP according to the notice terms in your agreement.

Founding-course offer: the first 25 courses get their data migration done for them at no charge and their price locked for life. See pricing or read the importing guide.

Questions about leaving foreUP

We use foreUP's point of sale. Does TeeMarshal replace it?

For the golf counter, yes. TeeMarshal has a light pro shop POS for check-in, carts, range, and a few hundred retail items, with Stripe Terminal card readers. It does not do food and beverage, so if you depend on that, tell us so we can give you an honest answer about fit.

Do rate classes come across?

Rate classes on imported reservations are mapped by name. Your rate grid itself is set up in the onboarding wizard with six questions, then adjusted in the rates screen.

How long does the import take?

Uploading and previewing takes a few minutes for a typical customer list. The time goes into reviewing the preview, which is worth doing carefully.

Can we undo the import?

Yes, for 7 days. Rolling back removes everything that import created.

Try the importer with your own export files

Create an account and run your files through the importer preview. You see how your own data comes across before anything is saved and before you decide anything.
