Dynamic pricing
Pricing that reacts, inside limits you set
Start with suggestions your GM approves one by one. Move to automatic rules when you are comfortable. Prices never go above your ceiling or below your floor, and every change is logged with the rule that made it.
Three ways to run it
You choose the mode per course and can change it any time.
- Off: your rate grid is the price, full stop
- Suggest: TeeMarshal proposes price changes and your GM accepts or declines each one with a click
- Rules: the rules you wrote apply automatically, within your floor and ceiling
Rules in plain terms
A rule is a condition and an adjustment. Weekend mornings that are 80 percent booked a week out go up 10 percent, capped at your ceiling. Afternoons that are under 40 percent booked the day before, with good weather, come down 15 percent, never below your floor. Rules are checked hourly for the next 14 days.
What it looks at
How this day and hour usually sells based on recent weeks and the same weeks last year, how it is booking right now, how far out it is, the weather forecast, and holidays and local events you list.
Guardrails
The limits are not optional.
- Never above your ceiling or below your floor
- A time that already has a booking at the old price is flagged rather than changed quietly
- Golfers are told if a price changed since they last looked
- Freeze pricing for any date range, for example a tournament weekend
- Every change is in the audit log with the rule that caused it
Honest about the model
Today, dynamic pricing is rule based. A statistical model that tunes prices within your limits is planned for when there is enough booking history across courses to do it responsibly. Until then, the automatic mode runs your rules and nothing else.
A soft Thursday afternoon
This is a hypothetical example. It is Wednesday. Thursday from 2 pm to 6 pm is 30 percent booked and the forecast is clear. Your rule takes 15 percent off, with a floor of $25. A $42 twilight rate shows as $35.70 online for those times. If your course is in suggest mode, your GM sees the suggestion on the sheet and accepts it with one click.
Common questions
Will prices change without us knowing?
Only if you choose the rules mode. In suggest mode nothing changes until your GM accepts it. In every mode the change is logged and visible on the sheet as a badge.
Does it affect resident, senior, or league rates?
A price change can apply to all rate classes on a time or to a specific one. You control which rules exist, so you can leave any rate class untouched.
Is this the same as what the big marketplaces do with our times?
No. These are your prices on your own booking site, set by your rules, and your course keeps the revenue.
