Getting started

The setup wizard takes a new course from sign up to a live booking page. Plan on about 30 minutes if you have your rates and your bank details handy.

Before you start

Have these within reach and setup goes quickly:

  • Your tee time interval and your first and last tee time of the day.
  • Your weekday, weekend, twilight, 9-hole, and cart prices.
  • Business details and bank account for payouts (for Stripe).
  • Your EIN and business address (for text message registration).
  • Access to wherever your website's DNS is managed, if you want booking on your own domain.
  • A customer export from your current system, if you are switching.

The wizard, step by step

Sign in with an email link or Google. If your account is not attached to a course yet, you land in the wizard at /onboarding. Every step can be skipped and finished later. Your dashboard keeps a list of the steps that are still open.

1. Course basics

Course name, address, phone, email, website, and time zone. The time zone matters: every tee time, reminder, and report is shown in your course's local time.

2. Tees and sheet template

Tell us how your course starts play. An 18-hole course is usually one tee. A course that starts on both nines is two tees (Front 9 and Back 9). Then set your interval (6 to 15 minutes), first time, last time, and players per time. We build your sheet 120 days ahead from this template. See tee sheet basics.

3. Rates in six questions

Weekday price, weekend price, when twilight starts, cart fee, 9-hole price, and resident discount. From those six answers we fill in a sensible rate grid that you can fine tune later. See rates and seasons.

4. Import golfers (optional)

Upload a customer export from your old system. You see a preview before anything is saved, and an import can be rolled back for 7 days. See importing your data.

5. Connect Stripe

Stripe handles card payments. You are the merchant of record and payouts go straight to your bank. See connecting Stripe. You can skip this and take pay-at-course bookings only.

6. Messaging number

We set up a local phone number for your course's texts and submit the carrier registration. Confirmations and reminders work right away. See texting and 10DLC.

7. Booking domain

Your booking page works immediately at yourcourse.teemarshal.com. To put it on your own domain, add one DNS record. See custom booking domain.

8. Go live checklist

  • Make a test booking on your booking page from your own phone.
  • Confirm the confirmation email and text arrive.
  • Find the booking on your sheet, check it in, then cancel or refund it.
  • Add your booking link to your website and your Google Business Profile.
Switching from another system? Pick a quiet weekday for the cutover, import your future bookings the evening before, and print the next day's sheet as a backup for the starter.

Adding your staff

Invite staff by email under Settings, Staff. Roles are owner, manager, staff, starter, and read-only. Owners and managers can change rates, policies, and billing. Staff can run the sheet and take payments. The starter role is built for the tablet at the first tee.
